Lifestyle factors can prevent diabetes in older adults

A new study finds your lifestyle factors are direct correlated with your risk of developing diabetes. In a 10 year study of 4,883 people aged 65 and older, researchers analyzed the link between lifestyle and incidence of diabetes. The lifestyle factors examined included physical activity, dietary habits, tobacco and alcohol use, and amount of body fat. Over The Counter Pain Relievers

Over-the-counter (OTC) pain relievers are those that do not require a prescription which is why many people use them without sufficient consideration for their safe use. In response, the Food & Drug Administration has begun to enforce regulations concerning warning labels and dosage. The FDA may also move to ban some prescription medications containing acetaminophen, a very common ingredient in OTC pain relievers. Severe Thyroid Cancers associated with exposure to radiation

A recent study has found that Thyroid cancer patients who have been exposed to radiation in the past have worse outcomes and more aggressive symptoms than other patients. 125 Thyroid cancer patients previously exposed to radiation –through environmental exposure, in the workplace, or for treatment of benign conditions like acne or others – were studied by researchers at Mount Sinai Hospital. While the median age at the time of exposure to radiation was 19.4 years, the median for diagnosis of their cancers was 28.7 years after that time. The patients in question were monitored for an average of 10.6 years after they were diagnosed.
